About Us

Maitland City Choir formed in 1987 when the choirs of Maitland Grossman High and Maitland Boys High, along with their Music Teachers/Directors amalgamated the two choirs, forming an incorporated organisation and opening up membership to the general public. Today (25 years later) the choir still has founding members. The choir has a proud history of performing in the Maitland Local Government Area. It has and continues to perform at civic ceremonies, choral festivals, concerts, nursing homes, shopping centres and Maitland Hospital (at Christmas time). It occasionally also performs at private functions.

The members of the choir are all ages, ranging from teenagers to elderly.

Maitland City Choir is a non-profit organisation consisting of approximately 55 members.

Maitland City Choir is a member of:

  • Australian Performing Arts Association
  • Australian National Choir Association

We meet on Tuesday evenings at the Seventh Day Adventist Church, Brunswick Street, East Maitland from 7.00pm to 9.00pm (View Googe Maps).
